Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has completed the proposed 30 km metro survey from Pari Chowk to Jewar Airport. The government has been suggested to operate the light metro. This will reduce the cost of construction of the metro route by one-third. The state government is soon going to start the first phase of construction work for the Noida International Airport at Jewar, so the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) can spend the funds for the light metro expansion.
According to the information received from the officials recently, the techno-fizibilty test of this 30 km corridor has been completed. Its report will be submitted to Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. The proposed corridor fairy will be fully elevated. Of this, three kilometers are going to go inside the airport complex.
According to media reports, this corridor will pass through Sector 17, 17A, 18, 20, 21, 22B, 22A, 28 and 29. The first flight is to be taken from the proposed Jewar Airport in the year 2023. Even metro connectivity will be through aqua line. For this, NMRC is working to make DPR again. There will be special emphasis on the convenience of passengers along with reducing the number of stations. The metro will cost around 20 percent less than the current cost. The cost of 250 to 350 crore rupees for one kilometer is laid in the elevated line of the metro currently running.
