More than 12,000 public toilets constructed; Rs. 100 fine will charge for open expurgation

Indore: PM Modi's swachh bharat Abhiyan is at its peak, many youngsters have shown enthusiast to clean their city. To promote the move to another step Indore Municipal corporation has decided to charge fine on open expurgation. This proposal was passed on Thursday during Indore Municipal Corporation's meeting.

Around 12,000 public toilets and nearly 60 Public bathrooms are constructed in the city. Which are seen near every places specially bus route, if anybody found peeing or excreting in open place will be charged fine of Rs. 100.

During discussion over proposal opposition alleged that the rule should be imposed only when there would be appropriate number of public toilets in the city. “the city still lacks adequate number of public toilets. Till the facility is provided in all parts of the city, the fine for open defecation should not be levied,” said Fauzia sheikh Alim, opposition leader in IMC.

Municipal Corporation are making every effort to make their city number one in the title of cleanliness. Malini Gaud, mayor of Indore municipal corporation said, “to achieve the target, we have successfully implemented door to door garbage collection system and working on making city free from open defecation we are also making sure that air pollution level of the city brought down.”
