The incident took place on December 8 when Inspector Vinod Kumar, who was posted with the traffic police in the evening, was busy checking vehicles and parking his Hero Honda Passion bike on the roadside side at the Mandi intersection.

In the meantime, vicious and fearless thieves fled with the inspector's bike. At the same time, Inspector was also surprised when he got information about his bike theft. Kotwali in-charge Inspector Sanjay Kumar Pandey said, "Inspector's bike has been stolen. A case has been registered and a search is on for the thieves.''
