New Delhi: A Delhi Police constable was hit hard by beating a street dog with a baseball bat in Chhalera village under Noida adjoining the national capital. Police have arrested the accused constable. Giving information in this regard on Monday, police officials said that a Delhi Police constable has been arrested for allegedly beating a stray dog to death with a baseball bat in Noida.  

The accused constable Vinod Kumar, aged around 35, is a resident of Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. He currently lives in Chapera village of Sector-44 under Sector-39 police station area of Noida and the incident took place on Sunday night. According to information provided by the authorities, the constable and his family, including his younger son, were scared of the dog, as the dog barked at them every time they left the neighbourhood.

A senior official said that after the incident, there was a dispute between the Delhi Police constable and the locals. This was reported to the police and the constable was taken into custody. An FIR was registered under Section 429 of the IPC and he was arrested. Police said further legal action is being taken in the case.
