NEW DELHI: Strong leadership and collective efforts, are two of the most crucial pillars in India's fight against the Covid epidemic, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

"Our action plan against the Covid pandemic was implemented nationally with combined efforts of everybody, demonstrating India's strength unitedly," Mandaviya remarked during a webinar with NGOs affiliated with NITI Aayog on "India's Public Health Response to COVID Management."

"NGOs played a critical role during the Corona crisis, and the world is applauding India's united fight against the Covid pandemic," Mandaviya said in his presentation to the NGOs. He went on to say that NGOs were critical in reducing community anxiety, decreasing vaccine apprehension, motivating people for vaccination, reaching out to vulnerable people, and, most importantly, delivering accurate information.

Amitabh Kant, the Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog, was also present at the virtual webinar. Amitabh Kant, speaking about India's efforts in the fight against the Covid epidemic, said there was a significant difference between India's attitude and those of other countries. India's strategy in the war against Covid was focused on technology, which aided in our success. "Around 14 million people were instrumental in making the Covid vaccination available to the public and to themselves. In India, the Covid vaccine was made available at a low cost ", Kant stated.
