Essential Ingredients - Potatoes - 3-4 (boiled-mashed), Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp, salt as per taste.
For stuffing - moong dal - 1/4 bowl (soaked in water for a few hours), asafetida - 1 pinch, cumin - 1/4 tsp, green chilli - 2 (finely chopped), turmeric - 1/4 tsp, coriander powder - 1/4 tsp, garam masala - 1/4 tsp, red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp, salt - as per taste, oil - as required.
Method of preparation - For this, filter out the lentils with water. Now after that heat some oil in a pan and then add cumin and asafetida and fry it. After this, add green chilli, turmeric, coriander powder, lentils, 1/4 cup water and salt and cook it for 6 minutes. Now after doing all this, mix red chilli powder in it and cook for 1 minute and keep it aside. After this, add potatoes, salt and asafoetida in a bowl and mix well and now make balls. After this, take a ball and spread it a little on your hand and fill it with a mixture of dal and make it in the shape of a Tikki. After this, heat the oil in a pan and deep fry Tikkis till they turn golden brown and take them out on a serving plate and serve with chutney.
