New Delhi: Amid clashes along the Indo-China border, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had a meeting with Chinese Defence Minister Wei Fenghi during his visit to Russia recently. The meeting between the two leaders lasted for about two and a half hours. Bjp Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy has termed the meeting as a major mistake. He says Rajnath Singh should not have agreed to hold a meeting with the Chinese defence minister.

In a tweet, Subramaniam Swamy wrote, "Our good Defence Minister Rajnath Singh must not have agreed on his own to meet the Chinese Defence Minister even if the Chinese wanted to meet. It must have been a collective decision. But my personal view is, based on my knowledge of China, that it was huge mistake to have met." The BJP leader today tweeted another, demanding the cancellation of next week's meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister.

Subramaniam Swamy said, "India should cancel our foreign minister's proposed meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister next week. It is useless because India wants China to vacate the occupied Indian territory, but China does not recognise it as Indian territory. Therefore will not vacate."
