Subrata Roy, the Sahara baron’s mother Chhabi Roy passed away today after a long illness at the age of 95,she was critically ill for over two years.

While,the Roy has been in Tihat Jail for more than two years relating to a long running dispute with markets regulator Sebi.

A Sahara group spokesperson said, "guiding light of Sahara India Pariwar and departed for her heavenly abode at 1.34 am today".

Statement added, “She has been critically ailing for last two years and was at a makeshift hospital at Sahara Shaher, Lucknow,"
Chhabi Roy was born in Araria district of Biha.
