New Delhi: Has there not been a subsidy of domestic LPG gas cylinders in your bank account for the last year? If the answer is yes, the Government has stopped subsidizing domestic gas. The biggest reason for this is that since May 2020, there is no difference in the prices of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG, so no amount of subsidy is being transferred to any customer.

In fact, a consumer has questioned the Twitter handle @MoPNG e-Seva of the official social media-based grievance redressal forum for the oil and gas sector, 'It's been more than 1 year, but we haven't got LPG gas cylinder subsidy, I complained about this on the online portal, but there has been no response!' The forum replied, 'Dear customer, since there is no difference in the prices of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG since May 2020, no subsidy amount is transferred to any customer.'

Let me tell you, on March 1, 2014, the price of a subsidized gas cylinder was Rs. 410.50, while that of a non-subsidized cylinder was Rs. 1080.5. The price of a 14.2 kg non-subsidized cylinder LPG cylinder has now gone up to Rs 884.50 in Delhi.
