Today is the death anniversary of Dhirubhai Ambani, who laid the foundation of Reliance Industries. Born on 28 December 1932, Dhirubhai's full name was Dheerajlal Hirachand Ambani. The success story of Dhirubhai Ambani is such that his starting salary was only Rs 300. But on seeing his hard work, he became the owner of crores. Following in the footsteps of the uncrowned king of the business world, today Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani have stood in the line of successful businessmen, Dhirubhai Ambani was a resident of Chorwad, a small village in Gujarat. His father was a teacher in the school. The financial condition of the house was not good, after which he started small jobs only after finishing high school. But this could not work for the family.

When he was only 17 years old. To earn money, he went to Yemen in the year 1949 with his brother Ramniklal. Where he got a job of Rs 300 per month at a petrol pump. The name of the company was 'A. Bessie & Co.' In view of Dhirubhai's work, the company gave him the post of manager in the filling station. After working here for a few years, Dhirubhai returned to the country in 1954. While living in Yemen, Dhirubhai dreamed of becoming a big man. So after returning home, he left for Mumbai with 500 rupees. He minded and laid the foundation of a company, Reliance Commerce Corporation, which started selling Indian spices abroad and foreign polyester in India. Ambani emerged as the richest person in the country only during 2000. He died on 6 July 2002 in a hospital in Mumbai due to the bursting of his head vein.
