Such incidents should not be repeated in future: On Kopparu village violence, Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita

Guntur: TDP leaders attacked 10 YSRCP workers with sticks in Koppuru, said Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita, who reached to console the injured in violence at Kopparu village of Pedanadipadu mandal in Guntur district. YSRCP leader Inturi Hanumantha Rao was seriously injured, he said. He said that the police took the injured YSRCP workers to the hospital for treatment by ambulance.

He said TDP leaders filed false cases against YSRCP workers and disturbed law and order in the peaceful Kopparu village. He directed the police officers to take all steps to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future. Ten people were injured and three motorcycles were damaged in a clash between TDP and YSRCP workers at the residence of former ZPTC member Batina Sharda late on Monday night. YSRCP supporters took out a procession for immersion of Ganesh idol on Monday night.

When their procession reached in front of Sharda's house, a dispute broke out between YSRCP workers and TDP workers. Both the groups pelted stones at each other and attacked with sticks. By registering a complaint against 19 people associated with YSRCP, the police have detained 15 suspects in connection with the attack and violence at Sarada's house.
