Amritsar: Polling for the Punjab Assembly elections is scheduled to be held on February 20. But before this, congress state unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu is once again seen getting embroiled in a family dispute. In fact, his NRI sister Suman Toor has filed a complaint against Sidhu with the Women's Commission. She said, "Sidhu has issued derogatory, absurd and false statements through his wife to tarnish my reputation.'' Sidhu's sister has demanded that appropriate action be taken in the entire matter.

Suman Toor has said that I belong to a highly respected family in Punjab. But after the death of my father Bhagwant Singh Sidhu, my only brother Navjot Singh had evicted our ailing mother Nirmal Bhagwant from his house saying that she has nothing here now. After this, our mother died like an unclaimed person at the Delhi railway station. I was defamed and I have been mentally tortured.

Giving a complaint to the Women's Commission, Suman Toor wrote, "After the recent revelations made by me about this, my brother Navjot Sidhu made an inappropriate and wrong statement regarding the legal separation of our parents during an interview, which had never happened in reality. After the death of my elder sister, I came to know from my niece that some derogatory things have been said about my parents. Although I tried to find out from every level, the original article of the interview was recently found on January 8, 2022. I have requested my brother Navjot Sidhu to prove the false and defamatory statements or dismiss them in public. But instead, he made abusive, absurd and false statements issued through his wife to tarnish my dignity.''
