New Delhi: Protests are taking place in many places after the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is implemented in the country. Shaheen Bagh of Delhi remains the center of this demonstration. Now former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has said that it is nice to see Muslim women participating in the sit-in protest against the Citizenship Act in the country.

Former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan praised the participation of women in the ongoing protest in Delhi and other parts of the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act. According to news agency PTI, Mahajan said, "Whether in Delhi or Indore, Muslim women will gain confidence by going out of their homes and participating in the protests. This will increase awareness among them and they will be able to raise their voice against injustice in the future. It is good that now they are taking their views on the streets."

Sumitra Mahajan said, "It is always nice for women to have an opinion on a matter. Now a large number of Muslim women are taking part in the protest against CAA. However, I have to see whether these women are understanding the matter properly or not. These Muslim women come out of their homes and raise slogans of Zindabad, Murdabad. I thank the people of Muslim society for this, because before this women did not leave the house."
