New Delhi: Rishi Sunak of Indian descent is going to take over as the Prime Minister of Britain today. His rise to the post of prime minister has been dubbed an 'Obama moment' by a leader of the Hindu temple in Britain. He said that this is the same opportunity for the Hindus of Britain when it came to the US when Obama became the President.

The same thing was said by the leader of the Hindu temple in the UK, which was built by Sunak's grandfather. 42-year-old Sunak won the race for the post of British Prime Minister on Monday and today he is going to become the first Indian-born PM of Britain. The 'Vedic Society Hindu Mandir' is located 110 kilometres southwest of London. It was built in 1971 by Ramdas Sunak, the grandfather of Rishi Sunak. According to a report received, Sunak's father Yashveer was a trustee in the trust of this temple located in Southampton during the 1980s.

The same sage Sunak regularly visits the temple in Hampshire City. The last time he had come here was in July and fed the devotees. His family keeps this feast every year. The report said that Sanjay Chandrana celebrated Sunak's election as Britain's first British Asian PM. Sunak is the first Hindu PM of the country. Chandrana said that it is a proud moment, the temple is still buzzing and a lot of people are showing their pictures with Sunak. He said that this is a 'Barack Obama moment' for the Hindus of Britain. When Obama became the President of America, we are getting the feeling that blacks were feeling today. For the first time in Britain, a black is becoming the prime minister and more importantly, he is an Indian and a Hindu. When we got to know that he was going to be the Prime Minister, we kept a special prayer.
