New Delhi: In the last few years, it has become a trend in Indian cricket that senior players are being given a lot of rest in the name of workload management. It includes the names of senior players like captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Jaspreet Bumrah. At the same time, former Team India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar seems to be somewhat upset with this and believes that no player should be rested till the ICC World Cup to be held in India next year.

Let us know that, immediately after the T20 World Cup 2022 played in Australia, Team India was to play a three-match T20 and ODI  series in New Zealand, for which Rohit, Virat, and KL Rahul were rested. After this, Hardik Pandya took over the reins of the T20 team, while Shikhar Dhawan is captaining the ODI team. The next World Cup is to be played in India and Gavaskar believes that many changes in Team India will not be good for the team. Gavaskar further said, "With less than a year left for the World Cup 2023, it is important that the players bat as much as possible together. This will lead to a better understanding between them.''

Gavaskar further said, "For a partnership between batsmen in limited overs, it is necessary that there is a good understanding between them. This will happen only if they play cricket together continuously. I don't believe in taking a break. I want to understand my team and my players and then control the team accordingly. Why do you need so many breaks?''
