Melbourne: Ajinkya Rahane, who led India in three Tests against Australia in the absence of Team India captain Virat Kohli, will not feel pressured under the captaincy. Kohli is going on paternity leave after a day-night Test match against Australia in Adelaide. In such a situation, Rahane is likely to lead the team in the remaining matches of the four-Test series.
In the Star Sports show 'Game Plan', former veteran batsman and current cricket commentator Sunil Gavaskar have said, "There is no real pressure on Ajinkya Rahane, as he has captained the team twice before, both times. He won against Australia at Dharamshala and India won. He led against Afghanistan and India won that match."
Gavaskar, a batsman known as Little Master, went on to say, "So, as far as his captaincy is concerned, there will be no pressure on him, as he is aware that he is currently the stand-in captain for just 3 Tests. Therefore, I do not think that being a captain or being taken as a captain is part of his thinking. "
