The hearing was held to provide food and shelter to migrant workers amid a 21-day lockdown in India. The Supreme Court has heard the petition filed by advocate AA Srivastava. The bench of the Chief Justice conducted the hearing through video conferencing. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the SC that a complete ban has been imposed on the state border, on a petition demanding basic needs and health facilities for migrant laborers migrating.

On this matter, the Supreme Court asked the central government to provide adequate food, water and medical facilities to the migrant laborers housed in the shelter home, as well as arrange for their counseling. The court told the government that action should be taken against those who spread false news. The Chief Justice commented that panic is more dangerous than virus. It can destroy more lives than Corona.

Apart from this, the court said that the government should create a portal in 24 hours in which there are also health experts who answer the questions of the people about Corona. At the same time, on the migration in Lockdown, the Center told the Supreme Court that 6 lakh 63 thousand people have been given shelter. No one is on the road anymore. On behalf of the central government, the Solicitor General told the SC that arrangements were being made to provide food to 22,88,000 needy people, including daily wage laborers, migrating people and needy people.
