New Delhi: The Supreme Court has reserved order on the petitions challenging the validity of amendments to the SC / ST Act. The bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra has said that we are not going to remove the provisions of the law. There is no need to make any changes, nor are we going to repeal the amendment. In this way, the government has got a big relief from the top court on this issue.

The Supreme Court has also said that "on receipt of a complaint of SC / ST Act if the police have any doubt about the complaint, the police will investigate the matter before taking any action". Actually, the Supreme Court's decision to lighten the provisions for immediate arrest in the law through amendments was repealed. Recently, the apex court changed its verdict on 20 March.
In January this year, the Supreme Court refused to ban the amendments. Through these amendments, the provision of not giving anticipatory bail to the accused was restored after the case was registered under this law. On 9 August last year, a bill related to this was passed in both houses of Parliament.
