Bengaluru: The Supreme Court ordered today that, Karnataka needs to be immediately release more water from the river Cauvery to neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

Karnataka on yesterday appealed that it cannot release 6,000 cusecs of water daily for a week, as ordered on September 21 by the Supreme Court. But the supreme court today, directed the Karnataka to comply its order today and tomorrow, while they decide the case.

After the Supreme Court directed the state government to release 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, the massive protests erupted in Karnataka, especially on the streets of Bengaluru and Mysuru.
