New Delhi: After the removal of Article 370 of the Constitution giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir, PDP leader and former CM Mehbooba Mufti, who was under house arrest for security reasons, will now be able to meet his daughter Iltija. On Thursday, the Supreme Court, hearing the petition of Iltija Mufti, has allowed him to go to Srinagar to meet the mother Mehbooba Mufti.
According to the top court, Iltija can visit Srinagar anytime and meet the mother Mehbooba Mufti after the permission of the administration. Earlier last week, Mehbooba Mufti's mother and sister met him. Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija Mufti petitioned the apex court, seeking to meet her mother. Mehbooba Mufti is under house arrest at Chashmashahi Resort in Srinagar. On Thursday, his petition was heard by a bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice SA Bobde and Justice SA Nazir.
In her petition, Iltija had submitted that she is concerned about her mother's health as she has not met her for a month.
