New Delhi: Can AYUSH doctors treat Corona patients or not? The country's largest court has given its verdict on this. The court said on Tuesday that trained AYUSH and homoeopath doctors can treat corona patients by using government-approved tablets, mixtures as add-on drugs in traditional treatment, but this will not have to be promoted.

Earlier, the Central government had said in the apex court that AYUSH and homoeopath doctors cannot treat corona. Not everyone can be allowed to prescribe medicines. These doctors can only prescribe government-approved mixtures and pills to increase immunity against corona. The Ministry of AYUSH had said in its affidavit in the apex court that AYUSH and homoeopath doctors cannot do any advertisement claiming treatment for Corona. The Ministry of AYUSH had issued a notification on 6 March, stating that the state government should take steps to include homoeopathic along with other methods in the treatment of corona.

A lawyer from Kerala, while filing a petition in the High Court, said that instructions should be given to the state government to implement this notification of the Ministry of AYUSH. The High Court said that AYUSH doctors can prescribe medicine, but not as a treatment for corona but only as an immunity booster, after which this case reached the top court.
