New Delhi: The top court has refused to ban the Gujarat Rajya Sabha elections. The Supreme Court has categorically refused to order on the petition of Congress leader Paresh Dhanani. The top court said that we will not stop the election. Now the case will be heard after four weeks. Paresh Dhanani has challenged the voting through postal ballot.

Polling for four Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat is scheduled on June 19, but some BJP MLA Corona is suffering. There was a doubt about their voting. The Election Commission has issued a decree to vote with the Postal Ballot, giving convenience to these MLAs. On this, Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer S Murali Krishnan said that the Election Commission has allowed postal voting, but it will be examined in depth. However, all three MLAs have recovered from Corona, but if anyone asks for postal voting permission, we will allow it.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that if the application of the postal ballot comes, we will verify and then allow the use of the postal ballot. Covid-infected MLAs were allowed to vote, but they would have to wear PPE kits. Polling booths will be completely sanitized after their voting. Paresh Dhanani had filed a petition in the apex court against this decision of the Election Commission and demanded a stay on the voting process of the Rajya Sabha elections.
