New Delhi: The Supreme Court of the country has turned down the reconsideration petition of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed against the bail of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram. In the INX Media money laundering case, the CBI had filed a review petition against the bail of the former Union Minister in the apex court.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed a charge sheet against senior Congress leader and former Home Minister P. Chidambaram in the INX Media case. A password-protected e-charge sheet was filed against Chidambaram, his son Karti and others in the court of Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar on Monday. The judge has ordered the agency to present the charge sheet in the form of a paper document when it starts functioning normally in the court. In the charge sheet filed, apart from Chidambaram, his son Karti and chartered accountant S.K. s. There are many names including Bhaskararaman.

Former Union Minister P Chidambaram was arrested on 21 August 2019 by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the INX Media corruption case. Apart from this, ED had arrested Chidambaram on October 16 last year in a case related to money laundering.
