New Delhi: The plea of Pawan, convict of Nirbhaya, was dismissed by the apex court. Pawan was demanding that he be considered a minor at the time of the crime. Earlier, on the appeal filed against the decision of Delhi High Court, Pawan's lawyer in the Supreme Court has argued that Pawan's age in school certificate was less than 18 years at the time of the incident. According to the school certificate, Pawan's date of birth is 8 October 1996, the police have hidden this fact.

Pawan's lawyer AP Singh said that Pawan was a minor at the time of the crime, so he cannot be hanged. He cited an example of a prior court ruling. On this, the court questioned Pawan's lawyer, 'You received this certificate in 2017. Before that, you were convicted by the court. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that on July 9, 2018, Pawan's reconsideration petition has been dismissed in the apex court.
