Supreme Court refuses to interfere in High Court decision on firecrackers ban in Kali Puja

New Delhi: All states are currently concerned about air pollution. It has put a ban on burning firecrackers in Delhi. In the meantime, on the occasion of Kali Puja, the sale and use of firecrackers in West Bengal was being said to be banned. The matter was also brought to the Supreme Court but it has categorically refused to intervene in the Calcutta High Court order. The court has categorically stated, "Saving lives during the Coronavirus epidemic is more important. '

Justice Dhananjay y Chandchud and Justice Indira Banerjee were involved. The two vacation benches said, "Although festivals are important, life is currently in danger in the era of epidemics." The apex court was hearing the appeal of Gautam Roy and Badbazar Fireworks Dealers Association against the November 5 order of the Calcutta High Court in the case. In the meantime, it has been refused to intervene. The festival of Kali Puja in Calcutta is going to be celebrated on Saturday.

The bench said, "We are all struggling for life in this situation and we are all older people in their homes. At the moment, we are in a situation where saving lives is more important and the High Court knows what is needed there. The bench also said that the High Court has taken care of the interests of citizens, especially senior citizens, who may be sick."
