New Delhi: The central government has stopped foreign funding of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) using the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) 2010. The central government's move was challenged in the apex court by the NGO India Social Action Forum (Insaf). Hearing the petition of the NGO, a bench of Justice L Nageswara Rao and Justice Deepak Gupta held the hearing.

The Supreme Court said that to prevent any organization from acquiring foreign funds, the central government should follow the rules and procedures of FCRA completely.
