Patna: A hearing was held in the Supreme Court today, i.e., Tuesday, April 11, on the petition of Bihar's YouTuber Manish Kashyap. A bench of Justice Krishna Murari and Justice Sanjay Karol, after hearing all the parties, issued notices to the Central, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu governments in this matter, asking them to reply within a week, and adjourned the next hearing till April 21, 2023. In fact, Manish Kashyap has sought to merge together the FIRs lodged against him in Bihar and Tamil Nadu in a petition filed in the apex court. The petition states that several FIRs have been registered against him, including three in Bihar and two in Tamil Nadu. Along with this, Manish Kashyap has also demanded interim bail in his petition.

During Tuesday's hearing, senior advocate Siddharth Dave, appearing for Kashyap, said he was facing five cases in two states. Dave said, 'Two FIRs have been registered in Tamil Nadu, and one bail application has been rejected in Bihar. Multiple actions cannot be taken in the case of one offence. The same happened in the Arnab Goswami case as well. Dave told the court that Manish has been taken to Tamil Nadu due to the registration of several FIRs, but he does not understand the language there. On the other hand, senior advocate and former Congress leader Kapil Sibal, appearing for the state of Tamil Nadu, said that many deaths took place due to fake news. This is not a small thing.

On the other hand, Manish Kashyap says that at the behest of the Nitish government, fake FIRs have been lodged against him in Bihar and Tamil Nadu. Manish surrendered on March 18 in Bettiah, Bihar. After this, on March 29, the police took him with them to Tamil Nadu. Kashyap was sent on remand for 3 days after being produced in a court in Madurai. After the remand was over, he was taken again to the Madurai district court. From where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. He is currently in judicial custody until April 19, 2023. A case has also been registered against Kashyap under the National Security Act (NSA).
