New Delhi: The Supreme Court has said a lot during the hearing of a case of child custody. The court has said that the child should get enough time and love from his father too. Actually, the court made this remark during the hearing of the case of the child of a separated couple. The court further said that although the mother's love is necessary, the father's right to meet the child and custody cannot be ignored. A child needs both attachment and love.

Chief Justice of the Bench, Deepak Gupta, who is hearing the case in the apex court, said this while changing the judgment of Allahabad High Court. Allahabad High Court did not deny the father's authority in his decision regarding 5-year-old child custody. The court had said that the father can meet his child twice a month. The High Court further said that at this age, the child needs more custody of the mother.

The father, who hails from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, appealed to the apex court against the High Court verdict. In his petition, he emphasized that a father cannot be restricted to meet his child in this way. The father must be given the right to meet the child.
