NCP chief Sharad has tweeted in response to Ajit that there is no question of an alliance with BJP. NCP has decided to form a coalition with Shiv Sena and Congress to form a government by consensus. Soon after Pawar's tweet, Jayant Patil, who became the new leader of NCP Party, also tweeted and requested Ajit to return back.

He tweeted in Marathi to come back respecting Sharad's decision. He does not want an alliance with BJP in the interest of the state. Jayant wrote in his tweet that you have been the founding member of the party and all of us have moved forward under the umbrella of Sharad Pawar. Earlier Ajit had tweeted and said that I am in NCP and I will stay ahead, Sharad is our leader.
