New Delhi: Former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader Chidambaram will appear in Rouse Avenue Court on Monday in the CBI case related to INX Media rigging. Chidambaram will be produced in court by the CBI on Monday afternoon. In fact, Chidambaram's 3-day additional CBI remand is ending on Monday.

Along with this, P Chidambaram's third petition in the Supreme Court will also be heard on Monday. In which Chidambaram has challenged the CBI remand. The petition said that according to the rule, the lower court should have issued the bailable warrant first and then the non-bailable warrant. But this has not been done, so Chidambaram's CBI remand is illegal. Earlier, in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) case, the hearing was completed in the Supreme Court on Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea.

The verdict was reserved by the apex court. The court will give its verdict on 5 September, till then the interim stay on the arrest of Chidambaram will continue. The court asked the ED to file a transcript in 3 days. During the hearing in the apex court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the ED, said that if Chidambaram is granted anticipatory bail, it will have disastrous consequences.
