Noted Malayalam actor Suraj Vanjaramoodu is already a National Award winner, last year he proved his versatility as an actor through films like Finally, Driving License and Android Kunjappan version 5.25. Now, the actor has been cast in the lead role in Clint director Harikumar's auto rickshaw krantari Bharya. The film, based on M Mukundan's famous novel, will feature the actor as a strange driver named Sajeevan, whose life changes after marrying Radhika.

Harikumar tells us, "Apart from Fahd Fasil, we only had the sun in our mind for the character as Sajivan has no scope for valor. Sooraj is proving that he is a brilliant artist and this is what we want from the actor who plays him. This is not a role for which we could cast some young stars as it is also a heroine-oriented project and this is one of the reasons the film was going to hit the floors last year.

Incidentally, there were rumors that Manju Warrier would be the female lead in the project or Parvati. However, Harikumar says, "Those reports are all fake. We have not contacted any of them; I think people are basing these rumors on how she has perceived Radhika's role in the novel and how she wants to see it. However, we will finalize the cast soon. "The film will also mark acclaimed writer M Mukundan's first scripting venture. "We are hoping to start the project by April 2020. With the sun on board, now we are absolutely clear to start shooting," he says.
