The 35th International Surajkund Handicrafts Fair has been tinted with the Himachali culture. Himachal has been chosen as the theme state at Surajkund Fair after 24 years. The state was first elected in 1996. The Himachal government has taken up the task to fulfill this huge responsibility after 24 years. The same Chief Minister himself is constantly taking updates from the officials of the tourism department about the preparations for this fair. The colorful Himachali hats, shawls and wooden artifacts at Surajkund fair can particularly attract tourists. Himachal will put up 70 hats at the fair. The handicraft, culture, and craftsmanship of the state will be demonstrated through these hats. Tourism Director Younus said that Nodal officers have been appointed for the successful organization of the fair.

The entire fair will be seen colored in Himachali. Efforts will be made to get people of the country and the world from Delhi to visit the main tourist places of the state. Himachal is recognized for its tourist destinations worldwide. Other main tourist places including Shimla, Manali, McLeodganj, Kasauli, Dalhousie, Kullu can be displayed through various arts in the fair. The fair can run from 1 to 17 February. People of the state are being sent to decorate the fair. The folk culture of Himachal can also be displayed in the fair. Special food stalls will be set up to make people aware of Himachali catering. Yunus, director of the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, said that the Department of Tourism would promote the state from the point of view of tourism through print and electronic media.

The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh can grace the State Governor's program on the inauguration of Surajkund International Crafts Fair on February 1, on February 16. As a theme state, a permanent gate of hill architecture has been constructed in the fair ground and a permanent memorial to Bhimakali temple Sarahan. In the style of Sakya Tongayud Math Spiti, Chamba Millennium Gate, Chinnan Mastika, Shaktipeeth Chintpurni, Chindi Mata Gate Karsog and Jwalamukhi Temple Gate, 5 gates and one in the traditional style can also be set up at each entrance of the craft fairground. An information center can also be set up to showcase the untouched tourist spots of the state.
