We had reported about how the fans of a few Kollywood stars engaged themselves in carrying out various relief works in the state to fight COVID-19. Now, a couple of stars have come forward to help some of the fans who are in need of money. It is said that Suriya and Karthi have lent monetary support to a few members of their fan clubs. We hear that Suriya has transferred a sum of ₹5,000 to 250 of his fans.
On the other hand, Karthi, too, is said to have transferred an amount of ₹5,000 to 150 of his fans. The amount, we hear, were transferred directly to the bank accounts of their fans. Sources say that both the stars enquired about the financially struggling members of their fan clubs and helped them accordingly.
Suriya was born as Saravanan on 23 July 1975 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu to Tamil film actor Sivakumar and his wife Lakshmi. He was initially offered the lead role by Vasanth in his film Aasai (1995), but he rejected the offer citing a lack of interest in an acting career.[9] He later debuted in Vasanth's own 1997 film Nerrukku Ner, produced by Mani Ratnam when he was 22 years of age.
Karthik Sivakumar (born 25 May 1977), better known by his stage name Karthi, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Tamil cinema. He has won three Filmfare Awards South, an Edison Award, a SIIMA Award and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award. Karthi had commenced shooting for PS Mithran's Sardar before the lockdown had come into existence.
