Mumbai: After the launch of the coronavirus vaccination campaign in India, the Congress has asked whether the government plans to vaccinate all Indians, especially the underprivileged and the poor, free of cost and when is it going to be vaccinated? Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that the government claims that three crore people are going to be vaccinated in the first phase of the vaccination campaign, but no clarification has been given as to whether the remaining population of India will be vaccinated and whether it is going to be free?
Continuing with him, he said, "Does the government not know that 81.35 crore people are entitled to subsidized ration under the Food Security Act? Will the SC, ST, OBC, BPL, poor and underprivileged be vaccinated for free or not? If so, what is the vaccination plan and by when the government will provide free vaccination?" "PM Narendra Modi and the BJP government will have to respond," Surjewala said. "Who will take the free Covid-19 vaccine? How many people will take the free corona vaccine? Where will the free vaccine take?" The Congress leader also raised questions about the value of two coronavirus vaccines 'Covaxin ' and ' Covishield '.
At the press conference, he said, "the development of vaccines and mass vaccination is neither an event nor a campaign gimmick, but it is an important milestone in the service of the people". The Congress leader said, "India stands together to protect its frontline corona warriors from the coronavirus, while it should also be remembered that vaccination is an important public service and not a political or business opportunity."
