New Delhi:- F1 Academy boss Susie Wolff wants his series to be like 'rocket fuel' for female talent looking to move up the youth racing ladder, having already partnered with all 10 Public Teams formula 1.
From next year, each F1 team will designate a driver to compete in the series and provide their outfit to that opponent. The F1 Academy is designed to create opportunities for young female drivers and serves as the first step on the single-seater ladder, all the way to F1.
The series' inaugural season begins in April and ends with races on the bill supporting the US F1 Grand Prix at Austin's Circuit of the Americas in October. No woman has entered an F1 race since Lella Lombardi at the 1976 Austrian Grand Prix, but Wolff said the F1 Academy's biggest short-term goal is to promote more women to the promotion. "It's about having the right development," Wolff told ESPN. "It's about knowing what comes back for our winners to progress.

"And not just the winner, if we have P2, P3, whoever it is, looking to come forward, I will do everything I can to see them come forward.
"We are not a destination for young female racers to stay and race. We are here to give them a platform, nurture them and give them the motivation to go further in the sport. This. "We don't believe in segregation, we believe in creating great opportunities to help young talents who want to progress."
Susie Wolff was previously the development driver for the Williams Formula One team. Wolff praised the F1 teams for their partnership with the Academy, saying that it is imperative to the academy's long-term success to have a full membership. "I took on this role and knew that we were more than just a racing movie for 15 young women," Wolff said.

"I know that being called the F1 Academy has given us the unique position that we are so closely associated with F1. For me, it's clear that I don't want to be on this adventure alone. me. "We need decision-making in this sport to be with us. I'm very well aware that I don't want it to be seen as a women's thing run by women, because there's been a lot of past. , especially when I do my own initiative.
"I have to say there's been a lot of support from the training ground and without that support wouldn't have gotten this far. There are a few team managers, I don't want to name... more more just to be honest, the people who have really supported us and really given us a boost and really helped bring all of this to life."

In addition to the F1 support, the five teams competing in the F1 Academy are all established teams in the Formula 3 and Formula 2 support championships. Although the F1 Academy is expected to join F2 and F3 more often in the F1 support bill by 2024, Wolff said it is now up to the Academy to get interesting and competitive races.
"It's a great opportunity, but I have no illusions about what we need to do now. We have all 10 teams involved. We have a background in the F1 calendar that can raise awareness. Amazing and very inspiring." But we have to deliver a good product.
"This is not running on goodwill from people because it's hip to support women's sport. I have no doubt we have to build a sustainable model which over the long term can be successful."
