New Delhi: In a surprising move, the suspended Twitter account "Elon Jet," known for tracking the private jet movements of Elon Musk, has found refuge on Meta's rival social media platform, Threads. Created by 19-year-old college student Jack Sweeney, the account had garnered over 500,000 followers before it was suspended by Twitter in December 2022.

Sweeney claims that his suspension was due to a violation of Twitter's privacy policy, which prohibits the sharing of private information. However, he contends that the information he shared was publicly available, insisting that he had done nothing wrong.

Elon Musk, who serves as Twitter's CEO, had previously issued a warning to Sweeney, threatening legal action if he did not cease tracking his jet. Musk cited concerns about security risks associated with the account. In a tweet, Musk stated, "Considering legal action" against Sweeney.

Despite Musk's threats, Sweeney remains undeterred and intends to persist in tracking Musk's jet. He expressed his willingness to collaborate with Musk to find a solution that adheres to Twitter's privacy policy while continuing to monitor the jet's movements.

The migration of the "Elon Jet" account to Threads signifies the intensifying competition between Twitter and Meta. Threads, Meta's newly launched social media platform, distinguishes itself by prioritizing user privacy and security, making it particularly appealing to a younger demographic—much like the followers of Sweeney's "Elon Jet" account.

Apart from tracking Elon Musk's private jet, Sweeney has also created similar accounts to monitor the movements of other notable billionaires, including Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates. Fearlessly, he asserts his intention to continue establishing these accounts, unafraid of potential legal action from these wealthy individuals.
