Shahjahanpur: In the allegations of sexual harassment perpetrated by a law student of Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, SIT responded to the question by owner Chinmayananda for 8 hours late on Thursday. With this, his Divy Ashram at Shahjahanpur has been sealed. SIT reached Chinmayananda's Divy Ashram with the victim. A large number of police forces were stationed at the ashram gate during this period. The movement of anyone inside and outside the ashram was banned.

The Supreme Court, while hearing the case this month, ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations of exploitation on former Union Minister and BJP leader Swami Chinmayananda. With this, the Supreme Court transferred the entire case to the Allahabad High Court. The apex court had said that the SIT would investigate the allegations leveled by the student on Chinmayanand and the Allahabad High Court would oversee the investigation.

The apex court had directed the Uttar Pradesh government to provide security to the girl and her family till the High Court reaches a conclusion. The apex court had directed the Chief Secretary of UP to transfer the student to another college to complete the LLM course.
