Stockholm: Using a study created by the nation's parliamentary defence committee, Swedish public broadcaster SVT stated on Sunday that a Russian attack on Sweden could not be completely ruled out.
According to the document, "an armed attack against Sweden cannot be ruled out," the broadcaster reported.
According to SVT, the document stated that "Russia has also further lowered its threshold for the use of military force and exhibits a high appetite for political and military risk." The ability of Russia to conduct operations against Sweden using its air force, naval forces, long-range weapons, or nuclear weapons is still intact.

The public presentation of the report is scheduled for Monday. Officials intend to send "a clear signal to Russia," according to an unnamed person who worked on the document, according to SVT.
Invoking Russia's ongoing military operation in Ukraine, Sweden last year abandoned its long-standing policy of non-alignment and submitted an application to join NATO.
Since Hungary and Turkey have so far refused to accept the Nordic country's application, the process has stalled.
