Damascus: Syrian army air defences met an Israeli missile strike on the outskirts of Damascus on Sunday, with no casualties, according to state media.

State media cited a Syrian military source as saying missile strikes from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights had targeted several unidentified sites.

"Our air defences confronted the aggressors' missiles and downed some of them with only material losses," said a Syrian military source.
Reuters was unable to confirm the report immediately.
