New Delhi: Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya's non-bowling in the T20 World Cup 2021 is currently the talk of the town. The issue has heated up after India suffered a crushing defeat by the hands of Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup. Now Pandya's usefulness is being questioned as he is not able to bowl and his bat has not been able to do much. He is having problems in bowling because of a back injury.

Mentions that Pandya played for Mumbai Indians in IPL-2021 before this World Cup but did not bowl even an over. Although a video of him bowling at the nets has surfaced, it is not certain that he will bowl in the next match against New Zealand. Now his selection in the T20 squad has been questioned by former chief selector Sandeep Patil. Patil has cornered the selectors in Pandya's case. Talking to the media, Patil said that, 'His selection in the playing XI is up to the captain and coach and only BCCI will know in this regard. But, usually, if the player is not fit then it comes to the selector. If he didn't bowl throughout the IPL, the selectors had to make a decision. He could have asked him for a fitness test before including him in the team for the World Cup.'

Patil further said that somebody has to take responsibility for this. There was no statement from Ravi Shastri. Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane had said they were fit. If he is unfit in the match, how can you say he is fit? This World Cup is not a series or match.
