The International Cricket Council has announced a group of T20 World Cup matches. The groups were scheduled in Oman on Friday. Interestingly, India is in the same group as its arch-rivals Pakistan. The T20 World Cup will be played in UAE and Oman instead of India from October 17 to November 14 due to the same corona infection. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jai Shah also participated in the event in Oman along with ICC officials. The match schedule for the T20 World Cup is likely to be released next week.

8 qualifying teams will participate in the first round of the tournament, which will be played in Oman and UAE. Out of these, four teams will advance to the Super 12 round. The 8 teams in the Arbink round include Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman, and Papua New Guinea. The final of the tournament will be played on November 14. The upcoming tournament will be the first T20 World Cup after 2016. The last time West Indies defeated England to win the title. India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in the Super-10 group match. India lost to the West Indies by 7 wickets in the semi-finals.
