Tabu is one of the actresses who is gaining praise for her acting skills even in her 50s. Tabu’s film Drishyam 2 has already hit the theatre screen and the movie is doing really well at Box office. Tabu’s other release this year, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, also saw an impressive opening day collection of ₹14 crore. The film earned more than ₹266 crores at the worldwide box office, making it one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2022.
Kangana Ranaut who usually criticized Bollywood celebrities recently took to social media to praise Tabu. The actress wrote, “Only two Hindi films have worked this year – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2 … and both films have superstar Tabu ji in central roles, slaying in her 50s… single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry. Her talent and consistency have never been questioned but to look her best and reach the peak of her stardom in her fifties is commendable.”
She further wrote, “I think women deserve much more credit for their unwavering dedication to their work... Such an inspiration.” Not only Kangana but the audience are also showering their love on Tabu for her acting in Drishyam 2.
Drishyam, the Hindi remake of hit Malayalam flick of the same name, was helmed by National-Award-winning director Nishikant Kamat, who died in 2020 at 50. Most of the original cast, including Tabu as feisty top cop Meera Deshmukh, will be reprising their roles in the sequel. Tabu, Dutta and Saran reprise their roles along with Devgn in ‘Drishyam 2’. The sequel will also star Akshaye Khanna. This movie marks the second collaboration of Khanna and Devgn after 20 years.
