CHENNAI: Soon after the House adopted a condolence resolution for the demise of Congress MLA Thirumahan Eveera and other noteworthy personalities, the Tamil Nadu Assembly was adjourned until January 11, morning. At 10:00 am today, the second day of the Tamil Nadu assembly officially began.

Members of the Assembly gave a silent tribute to Congress MLA Thirumahan Eveera and others. As soon as the Assembly met for the day, it passed a resolution of sympathy for notable persons, including K Nedunchezhiyan and Avvai Natarajan, two Tamil scholars, noted film narrator Auroordas, renowned artist and author Manohar Devadoss, former DMK MP and Vice Chairman Dr. Masthan, the head of the State Minorities Commission, and football legend Pele.

The House was adjourned until the morning of the next day, said Speaker Appavu. The Assembly will meet tomorrow at 10 a.m. to discuss a proposal to thank the Governor of Tamil Nadu, RN Ravi, for giving his customary speech in the Assembly.
On January 11 and 12, the discussion will continue, and on January 13, the chief minister, MK Stalin, will respond to the discussion. On Monday, the assembly witnessed unusual scenes as Governor R. N. Ravi hurriedly left after the acceptance of a resolution introduced by Chief Minister Stalin that aimed to erase any remarks the Governor made outside of the typical government-prepared address from house records.

The Assembly quickly adopted a motion to exclude a specific section of the Governor's speech after he finished speaking, which caused the Governor to hastily adjourn the assembly. The Governor was charged by CM Stalin with "delivering an extempore address that departed from the approved text."

On the subject, Stalin said, "Since we adhere to the assembly's regulations and the Dravidian model of government. Before he began his speech, we made no protests," he said. The wording for the traditional address had already received the Governor's approval and, said the Chief Minister, had been provided to the MLAs in printed books.

In his speech, Governor RN Ravi skipped through phrases that included words like Periyar, Ambedkar, Kalaingar Karunanithi, Kamarajar, Dravidian Model Government, Peaceful Tamil Nadu, Social Justice, and self-respect, according to MLAs in attendance. Additionally, they claimed that Governor Ravi did not understand the governor's DMK's promotion of the "Dravidian model."
