Tamil Nadu: Swega Swaminathan, the daughter of a farmer from Kasipalayam village in Erode district, has received a full scholarship of Rs 3 crore to pursue a bachelor's degree at Chicago University in the United States of America. Chicago University is ranked among the top ten universities in the world.
According to a statement from the organisation, Swega was trained and mentored by Dexterity Global as part of its leadership development and career development programme.
"This is huge," said Sharad Vivek Sagar, founder of Dexterity Global, in a tweet. Swega, a 17-year-old Dexterity to College fellow from Erode, Tamil Nadu, and the daughter of a small farmer, has been accepted to the University of Chicago, one of the world's top ten universities, on a full scholarship worth three crores. Sharad Sagar said Dexterity Global is a non-profit, national organisation that empowers the next generation of leaders through educational opportunities and training.
