Tamil Nadu Government to conduct surrogacy inquiry as Nayanthara welcomes twin babies

One of the most loved couples in South Industry South Diva Nayanthara and Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan recently welcomed twin sons.  Vignesh shared the good news on Twitter and revealed the names of their sons as Uyir and Ulagam. The couple landed in a trouble as Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian has said that an inquiry will be as the couple adopt for surrogacy.

There were reports that the babies were conceived through surrogacy. Tamil Nadu Health Minister, Ma Subramanian during a press conference on Monday evening said that surrogacy law is itself subjected to a lot of debates.  Subramanian in an interview said, "An inquiry will be conducted and I will be directing the Medical Services Directorate to conduct an inquiry into the same."

In India, commercial surrogacy is banned and the criteria are that the surrogate should be at least married once and should have her own child. According to the latest surrogacy regulation bill, with effect from January 25, 2022. Only altruistic surrogacy would be allowed wherein except for the medical expenses and the insurance cover of the surrogate, no other charges or expenses would be covered by the couple who engages the surrogate.

Recently Vignesh took to his Twitter shared a picture and wrote, “Nayan & Me have become Amma & Appa. We have been blessed with twin baby Boys All our prayers, our ancestors’ blessings combined with all the good manifestations made, have come 2gethr in the form Of 2 blessed babies for us Need all ur blessings for our Uyir & Ulagam.”
