Chennai: Tamil Nadu government has taken possession of the movable and immovable property of late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. It is being told that a total of 32721 items including 4 kg gold, 610 kg silver, 10438 clothes, 8376 books are included. It is also reported that these include 11 televisions, 10 refrigerators, 38 AC, 556 furniture, 6514 cook utensils, 1055 showcases, 15 puja utensils, 29 phones, 394 Momento, 253 stationery items, 65 suitcases, 6 watches.

The Tamil Nadu government is in the process of memorializing Jayalalithaa's residence 'Veda Nilayam'. Due to this, the property has been acquired. Last month, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Banwarilal Purohit, issued an ordinance to temporarily take over the residence of the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to convert it into a museum. The government issued a statement in which it was said that Jayalalithaa's residence will be converted into a memorial.

The Puranchi Thalaivi J. Jayalalithaa Memorial Foundation will be established under the chairmanship of Chief Minister KK Palaniswami. It is being told that Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and others can join as members. Palaniswami had already announced the government's decision to convert Jayalalithaa's residence into a memorial.
