Tamil Nadu : All schools have been closed in Tamil Nadu due to the spread of corona infection. Online education is arranged from home. The Tamil Nadu government has decided to open schools for students of classes 9th to 12th from September 1 in an environment where the disease is minimal.

The government has allocated funds to provide lunch under the MGR Nutrition Program. Therefore, the school education commissioner Nandakumar has directed the district primary education officers to further ensure that the nutrition is provided without any hindrance when going to inspect the schools. According to a circular issued in this regard, schools are closed due to corona infection and students are unable to get their lunch in schools. Thus some backward students are unable to meet their needs. They have the potential to become child laborers

Some parents send their children to work. Due to this the dropout rate in schools is significantly increasing and the future of the students is also affected. In order to avoid this, the government is considering providing bread and eggs to the students through voluntary organizations. In this context, education officials should investigate whether school children are child laborers. Any deficiencies should be addressed by the District Social Welfare Office and the District Collector. School students are advised to take appropriate action to benefit from such activities.
