Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin  signed a Rs 2000 crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trilliant, marking a major step in establishing a new manufacturing unit and the company's Development and Global Support Centre in Tamil Nadu.

In an update on social media, Stalin expressed enthusiasm about this significant partnership, saying, "Exciting developments in Tamil Nadu! We’ve secured a Rs 2000 crore MoU with Trilliant to set up a manufacturing unit and their Development & Global Support Centre. Thanks to Trilliant for this valuable partnership."

Stalin also highlighted discussions with Nike regarding expanding footwear production in Chennai and collaborations with Optum, a healthcare firm, to build a talent pipeline in the sector. "Had productive talks with Nike about expanding its footwear production and exploring the potential for a design centre in Chennai. Engaged with Optum, which already employs 5,000 people in Tamil Nadu, to develop a talent pipeline for the healthcare sector and requested them to consider expanding in Trichy and Madurai," he added.

Earlier in the week, Stalin signed MoUs with Eaton, a global power management company, for a Rs 200 crore expansion of their R&D and engineering centre in Chennai, which will create 500 new jobs. He also announced a new agreement with Assurant, a risk management solutions provider, to establish its first Global Capability Centre in India, located in Chennai.

Stalin's visit to the United States is focused on boosting state investments and prosperity. On August 31, 2024, he secured a Rs 400 crore investment from Ohmium for a new factory in Chengalpattu district to produce electrolysers and green hydrogen, which will generate 500 jobs. This agreement is seen as a significant advance in promoting green energy production and sustainability.

Stalin also held meetings with major tech firms such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft to encourage investments in Tamil Nadu. An MoU was signed with Google to set up artificial intelligence (AI) labs in the state.

Additionally, during an investors' conference in San Francisco on August 29, 2024, Stalin secured MoUs with six global companies—Nokia, PayPal, Yield Engineering Services, Microchip, Infinx Healthcare, and Applied Materials—totaling Rs 900 crores in investments and creating 4,100 job opportunities.
