Coimbatore: On Monday, the Kovilpalayam police apprehended a young man in connection with the killing of his father near Keeranatham in the Coimbatore district.
P. Subash (24) and his father Palanisamy (50), according to the police, had a confrontation at their home late on Sunday over loan repayment. The father was allegedly assaulted, strangled, and attacked with a sickle by his son. The injured man was not taken to the hospital throughout the night, according to the police.
The Kovilpalayam police visited the residence based on the information and arrested the son after he confessed, according to the police. The accused was charged with murder and held in judicial prison under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Indian Penal Code.
