The Tata Tiago EV (electric vehicle) was formally presented and introduced in the nation on Wednesday, with a starting price of $8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). This is Tata Motors' fourth electric vehicle (EV) model, following the Tigor EV, Nexon EV, and Nexon EV Max. The Tiago EV, however, is seen as the model that will introduce battery-powered mobility technology to the general public, in contrast to all three of the other models.
Tata Motors emphasises that the Tiago EV price revealed is only good for the first 10,000 reservations made once the reservation window opens on October 10. Beginning in January of the next year, Tiago EV will begin to be delivered. Additionally, 2,000 of the first 10,000 reservations are held exclusively for Tata EV passenger vehicle owners.

In the nation's expanding EV market, Tata Motors has a massive market share. Although Nexon EV is the model that sells the most in all segments, Tiago EV may now threaten Nexon EV's dominance due to the price point at which it has been introduced. “With an aim to make our EVs more accessible, with this launch, we are entering 80 new cities, expanding our network to more than 165 cities," said Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. “With the launch of the Tiago EV, India’s first electric hatchback, the nation can take a giant leap forward in the quest for safe, clean and green mobility."
